Shirou becomes an exorcist
Pops is finally free
The episode begins with Shirou and an exorcist named Fujimoto who is also Shirou's guardian. This is the man with the demon dog who found Yuri and Shirou and sent them to an asylum. Fujimoto praises Shirou for passing the exorcism certification exam. However, while they are exploring the snowy forest, Fujimoto stops for a moment to catch his breath but is brutally attacked by an unknown creature.
Shirou rushes to his aid but is unable to save him as Fujimoto loses a lot of blood and eventually dies. As soon as he does this, his familiar evil black dog from the first episode disappears. Before dying, Fujimoto regrets not being able to get Shirou a gift for passing his exam. So, after his death, Shirou takes Fujimoto's glasses as a memento.
Enjoying his freedom
Shiro Fujimoto has finally gained his freedom from Ward 13 in quite an honorable way. He becomes a top-ranked senior exorcist. We also see Yuri in this scene as he becomes a second class exorcist. His peers acknowledge the fact that Yuri has the ability to become a first-class Exorcist or an Exwire, but Yuri states that he does not enjoy fighting demons, but rather studying and raising them. That shows how kind and pure he is. Shirou continues to be rude to Yuri which is infuriating to watch.
In the next few scenes, we see Shirou really enjoying his freedom as an exorcist, going to bars late at night and making love to several women. Shirou is also very popular among his female colleagues, and despite the attention and love he receives, Yuri says that he seems quite lonely.

Yuri proves his skills

Blue Exorcist: Chapter 13, explained
Chapter 13 can be considered the starting point of everything that went wrong. But what is the significance of Chapter 13 in Blue Exorcist?
Satan has a body
Rin and Mephisto then visit Section 13, where scientists are testing Elixir 97. When Rin looks closely at a test subject, the subject opens its eyes, which are blue, indicating that the body is possessed by a demon. Mephisto then explains that this was the first time Satan had ever possessed a body, but the possession was so transient that no one noticed.
Mephisto also claims that it took Satan nine years to adapt this body. As those nine years pass, we see Yuri and Shirou enter adulthood, and Yuri becomes more beautiful than ever. This episode is the best ever because we have so many cute interactions between Shirou and Yuri. Also, in the end, they put their differences behind them and establish a very good friendship.
Origin of Satan is also extremely exciting to watch and the animation of this episode is really well executed. While this episode was full of smiles and helpful moments that Mephisto said, this story will end in tragedy, so we're very excited to see what the next episode has in store for us.
