Why are Usopp's lies important?
Almost all of Usopp's lies can be considered predictions about the future. So far, many lies have become reality and as a result have been disqualified from being lies. A lie does not become the truth immediately, but it takes time.
Whenever Usopp tells a lie, fans can expect it to come true in the future. Therefore, it is important to remember all the lies that the Straw Hat Sniper tells. By now, fans have seen many of these lies become true, and with the story in the final saga, there is a chance that the rest will become true.
Usopp's lies come true
The first lie Usopp told was about the pirates coming to Syrup Village. Over and over, Usopp screamed and shouted that the village was under attack by pirates. At first the villagers believed him, but a time came when they realized that he was just a liar.
This lie was turned into truth in the same arc when the Black Cat Pirates attacked Syrup Village. Led by Captain Kuro, the pirates were sure to destroy the peaceful village. Fortunately, Usopp's new allies defeated them and saved the village.
The second lie that came true was about a fish whose poop was so big you could anchor a shop on it. Usopp told Kaya this story to keep her spirits up because she was constantly sick. This lie became true in Little Garden Bow, where the Straw Hat Pirates encountered a giant goldfish. The excrement of this fish was so big that it was known as Nanimonai Island.
Of course it was fake! I can't lift five tons! I quit after five pounds!” -Usopp
Usopp's lie about the goldfish also referred to a nation of small people who ate large fish. While the goldfish part came true in Little Garden, the other half of the lie only came true in the Dressrosa arc. The Tuntata clan started in the Dressrosa arc. They were fierce warriors who caught and ate the fighting fish that were present in the waters around the island. The members of the Tontata clan loved Usopp and considered him untouchable.
Mole, Dragon, and Cerberus
Another one of Usopp's lies was about a giant mole inside the mansion. The lie was about Merry Christmas Miss, who was Mogo Mogo No Mee, a Zoan-type evil fruit that allowed her to turn into a mole.
Usopp also lied about catching a dragon and chasing a Cerberus. The second occurred in the Thriller Bark arc, where the Straw Hats encountered one of Moria and Hogback's creations. The monster seemed fierce at first, but Luffy and his friends tamed it. The crew encountered a dragon in Punk Hazard. It was quite massive and could easily destroy the entire city. Roronoa Zoro took it upon himself to remove it, and he did it with aplomb.
First prize as Sogeking
When Luffy received his 30 million bounty, Usopp claimed it as his, which was obviously a lie. But this lie also became true. Usopp appeared as Sogeking in the Enies lobby arc because he didn't want to face Luffy and the rest of the crew. After the Straw Hat successfully rescues Robin and defeats CP9, the crew members receive new rewards. Usopp's new bounty as Sogeking was 30 million.
What other lies have not yet become reality?
Usopp has thrown six lies that have yet to be corrected. These include:
- Claims to be a brave sea warrior
- Foreign store owner
- A medicine that can cure everything
- Having 8000 followers
- Fighting sea kings in the Pacific Belt
With One Piece in its final saga, Usopp doesn't have much time to turn these lies into truth. A drug that can cure everything will probably be discovered by Chopper who wants to become the greatest doctor in the world.
The lie about fighting the Sea Kings is linked to the final battle against Imo. It has been said that the water level will rise again and cause a change in the entire geography of the world. Creatures that live in the ocean are certainly affected by it and may become more aggressive. Usopp's lie/dream of becoming a brave sea warrior will probably come true when he fights the Blackbeard Pirates and defeats Van Agor.
