A man has died while visiting a popular swimming spot in Sydney’s south.
Paramedics rushed to Watamolla, a beach in the Royal National Park south of Cronulla, at around midday on Monday after a man was found unresponsive.
Despite the efforts of arriving ambulance officers who performed CPR, the man could not be revived and died at the scene.
It’s understood the man in his 40s may have suffered a medical episode on the beach that lead to him becoming unconscious.
Police are investigating and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
Sitting in the centre of the Royal National Park south of Sydney, Watamolla is one of the most popular destinations within the reserve.
