Uryuu has received one of the best anime additions

Manga readers knew that Uryu Ishida would eventually betray Ichigo and the Gotei 13, but there was always very little build up to it. Readers hardly have any explanation behind his betrayal. However, the anime adaptation of Thousand Years of Blood War is largely based on this. Already in the first episode, Orio gets several new scenes that further his involvement with the war. He is shown reading his grandfather's diary and discovering the truth about a war a thousand years ago. They also hint that his mother may have played a role in his father's motivations for abandoning Quincy.

In the second episode, he gets even more new scenes, giving him more time with Jugram Haschwalth and the other Sternritters. This further helps the audience to think that what they see in him is not what he seems. The audience gets the suspicion that Orio might be hiding something. In this way, Jogram, as an audience, is always suspicious of Oreo. There is a constant feeling that something is hidden behind Orio's apparent betrayal.

A true Quincy

During the Quincy Royal Guard's battle with Senjomaru, Uryuu now shows hints of his new ability. Uryuu is now Sternritter A -The Antithesis, an ability that allows him to turn the tide of battle in the blink of an eye. And that's exactly how it defeats Senjumaru. Uryuu gets a brand new battle with Squad 0's representative. He unleashes a power far beyond anything he's ever shown, allowing him to overcome the incredible powers of the Soul Reaper.

And now with the newest episode of the series, he has a whole new battle with his best friend, Ichigo Kurosaki. Here he further demonstrates the incredible power Quincy has gained thanks to his king. He can effortlessly imagine and shoot arrows without showing Quincy's bow. And most importantly, he now displays an ability he never used in the original manga, Vollständig.

Uryuu's Vollständig is one of the greatest anime Tite Kubo has given his fans to properly portray his favorite characters. The second episode introduced characters such as Shinji Hirako and Senjomaru Shotara as the new Bankai. The former had already been established in the Can't Feel Your World novels, but the latter had never received such an honor, not even in supplementary material. Senjumaru's battle with the royal guard was completely anime, as was the new battle between Ichigo and Uryuu.

Tite Kubo and Studio Pierrot continue to blow away fans and everyone's expectations with every episode of the Millennium Blood War. So far, episode 3 has been a fantastic departure from the original material in the best possible way. Instead of completely changing the story, the anime has shown completely new material that enhances the impact and emotional weight of Bleach's final arc. We're only a few episodes away from the third episode, and as writer Tite Kubo previously stated, this episode will see the most anime-only expansions of the series. Fans are more excited than ever to see what else will be added to the story with this incredible anime.
