LEGO releases hundreds of new sets every year, and ideas for some of these sets come from those who buy and build them. Lego runs an ideas program where fans can submit projects they'd like to see become official sets that are mass-produced and sold, and if an idea gets enough support, Lego officially approves it. This is exactly why it is considered. One of the latest submissions to surpass that goal is a fan set based on the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Megazord, complete with Minifigures.
The Power Rangers set is designed by Legotron (thanks, The Brick Fan) and reached the goal of 10,000 backers needed for the set to be officially considered by Lego last week. This isn't the first time Legotron has attempted to produce a Megazord off the line. Their last effort fell short of the 10,000 backer goal, but with some tweaks and improvements, this latest rendering of what the official Lego Megazord might look like has easily passed the mark.

A concept for the set reached 10,000 fans just in time to be considered for an upcoming LEGO review period.
Lego idea submissions are given a set amount of time to reach various goals, with more time added each time a set hits a backer milestone. Between the extra time added when passing each of the checkpoints, the Power Rangers set had two years to gain enough support to be officially considered by Lego. He was able to reach this goal in less than two months.
As for what the set would look like if Lego liked the idea and went ahead with it, the Megazord complete with Power Sword, There are 1225 pieces And it looks just like the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers series. The Megazord is only half of it though. Not only the Lego Ideas collection is also included Minifigure versions of the five original Power Rangersbut it can be split into five separate Zords that come together to create it.
This LEGO Megazord set may one day become an official reality
Now it's up to Lego to make that happen
These are lego versions Tyrannosaurus, Mastodon, Saber-Tooth Tiger, Pterodactyl and Triceratopseffectively making these five LEGO sets into one. Lego could market it that way and sell the five sets individually as well as together as a complete Megazord set, not that I'd give them an idea.
The Megazord collection won't be officially reviewed until Mayjoining every other idea pool that exceeds the 10,000 backer threshold between now and then. There has never been an official LEGO Power Rangers set before. I assume Hasbro's ownership of the Power Rangers toys is the biggest reason. Dungeons & Dragons, also owned by Hasbro, got its first Lego set last year, so maybe the chains have loosened and it's possible that the Power Rangers Lego idea could finally become a reality.
