The best support gems in Path of Exile 2

There are a lot of support gems available in Path of Exile 2. Instead of attaching them to skill gems in your gear (like in the first game), you'll attach these support gems to a skill gem you put in your skill. Screen

Path of Exile 2 helps you choose the support skill that works best with the chosen skill. Once you have an uncut gem, you are offered a few options, but you can also choose other support skills to cut the gem. Here, we're going to take a look at the best support gems.

confidential speed

First we have Arcane Tempo. This support gem doesn't rock the game too much, but if you feel like your cast times are a little slow, then this gem is useful. By socketing Arcane Tempo into a skill, casting time is increased by 25%.

This is great if you're interested in a skill that has a fairly long cast time. As mentioned in the support description, you can only have one Arcane Tempo in your build at a time, so use it wisely! Once you socket it into a skill, the increase in casting speed is definitely noticeable.

Unleash is a support gem that has multiple effects. For every 200% of cast time, the supported spell gains one seal, for a total of two seals possible. The support gem also notes that supported spells are not sealed when cast, and the effects reoccur for each lost seal.

Finally, the supported skill deals 50% less damage when repeated. So, what does this all mean? Visually, it looks like you're casting the skill twice in a row when you use it. For example, if you fire a fire projectile, two rounds will be fired. Of course, this is useful for skills you use frequently, especially those with multiple projectiles.

Mastery Support Gems

Rather than just one type of gem, this entry includes several, which you can find below.

• Chaos dominates

• Cold mastery

• Mastery of fire

• Mastery of lightning

• Minion Mastery

• Physical dominance

Each stone here increases the level of the supported skill by one. For example, Chaos Mastery supports a level for the Chaos skill. Basically, it makes the supported skill a bit better. When combined with other supporting stones, these stones can really be effective.

Injection support stones

Continuing with the wider variety of gems, we have Infusion support gems. There are five items from this game that you can find below.

• fire injection

• Lightning injection

• cold injection

• Chaos injection

Each of these support gems causes supported skills to take 25% damage as additional elemental damage (depending on the gem type), but deal 50% less elemental damage for other types. This balance includes fire, light and cold. For example. Cold Infusion deals more cold damage and less fire/lightning damage.

Chaos Infusion works a little differently. This support gem still increases Chaos damage, but deals a 50% reduction in all other damage. In general, these gems are great if a supported skill only deals one type of elemental damage.

Remember, support gems only apply to the skill they are socketed to. It does not increase or decrease your base damage for any skills you use.

jagged ground

Jagged Ground is a simple support gem that gives you a 50% chance to cast Jagged Ground that lasts for four seconds. Jagged Ground is an effect that slows enemies in the area by 20%. This skill is great for melee tools, especially since it only supports slam skills.

Slam skills are melee attacks that deal AoE damage on the ground. This still counts as melee damage, but you're not actually hitting enemies directly with your weapon.

Next, we have Conduction. This support gem has a simple explanation. This increases your chance to stun by 100%. It supports skills that directly hit enemies. When enemies are stunned, they will take more damage for a short time.

Guidance is useful in a wide range of scenarios. While you can really increase your damage on elemental spells, Conduction is useful with skills like Galvanic Shards. Do not underestimate the power of lightning damage!

Savagery is a good choice for those of you who take physical damage. By using this support gem, you can increase your physical damage by 35%. Of course, there is also a negative point. The supported skill will not deal any chaos or basic damage.

If the supported skill doesn't rely on chaos or basic damage, there's basically no downside to using it! Use this wisely though, as there are other support gems that add chaos/basic damage to your skills. You don't want to accidentally cancel any support gems you have equipped.

Last but not least, we have Wildshards. It supports skills that fire projectiles, which is huge. With Wildshards, you'll have a 20% chance to fire eight more projectiles in a circle.

It goes without saying, but this is incredibly useful. While 20% means the support gem isn't guaranteed to activate, it's still worth the chance. Wildshards are quite versatile, as many classes use some form of projectile.
