However, one thing remains constant: the planets you visit are out to get you, and they will do anything to get you down. The guards have more firepower and annoying tactics, while the local beasts and hideous nightmares see you as lunch. You'll need the best to defend yourself, but which multi-tools are the best?

Animus Ray

Plasma launcher

The tried and trusted No Man's Sky grenade launcherthis secondary weapon is useful in many ways. It can blow out the armored doors of production facilities, open resource warehouses to claim its rare rewards, or take out Sentinel Walkers with just a few blasts.

However, as a weapon, it is clumsy and ineffective. While you can pull off multiple grenades in a row, aiming can be difficult (especially at longer ranges), and reloading every few seconds when you're surrounded by death machines is inconvenient.
