Stalker 2: How to beat Faust

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl Certainly not for the faint of heart. As if the murderous mutants and anomalies scattered around The Zone weren't enough of a threat, several warring factions vying for control, each with their own ideologies to enforce, may be the most dangerous threat of all. Nowhere is this exemplified better than by the mad monolithic noosphere shaman, Faust.

After the first attack on Douga, in which Fawcett uses his illusory clones and activates the massive structure, Skiff is forced to retreat and regroup, either with Spark or Ward, before he can recapture him. These choices affect the start of the mission rather than the end, and in both cases lead to a boss battle with Faust. The fight is not as simple as it seems at first and you have to be aware of your surroundings and shoot carefully to defeat him and progress.

Stalker 2: The best weapons, ranked

As players fight their way through the zone in Stalker 2, here are the best weapons to keep in their arsenal.

Where to find Faust

Fawcett Stalker 2 rooftop location communication center

The confrontation with Faust takes place on the roof of the Doga communication center. First he appears in the lower levels with several zombies under his control and uses the controllers' mental abilities to distort your vision before escaping. Follow his run and be alert for both zombies and monolithic guards. Pick up as much ammo as you can find for your existing weapons as you will need it for the fight ahead.

Go through the room with the lantern/sunshade and up the stairs to the roof. Finding your way to the roof should be fairly easy, but be prepared to battle guards all the way. Before heading to the roof, make sure to restock all the resources in the room below.

How to defeat Faust

Stalker 2 Lantern Fight Faust 1

The first thing you'll notice about fighting Faust is that you're actually only fighting phantoms. No amount of Psi-block or helmet upgrades can negate this effect. Instead, you'll have to destroy the various lanterns dotted around the rooftops, and you can ignore the hallucinatory Faust clones if you need to. Defeating them can be a good way to get more ammo, though it will likely cost more than returning. Instead, Aiming at the lanterns (a shotgun is recommended) will break the illusion and cause Fawcett to spawn for real..

In this second step, he will have a beacon/transmitter strapped to his thigh. Shooting this device repeatedly will cause it to fail until Fawcett is finally damaged. Without first disabling the rooftop lanterns and then the leg machine, Fawcett himself will be able to constantly regenerate health and withstand any amount of punishment you can throw at him. Once they're gone, it'll be fairly straightforward and a cutscene will begin to indicate successful completion of the fight.
