Splosh Australia’s Father’s Day mugs recalled over safety fears, burns and lacerations

A sweet gift intended for a Father’s Day present has been recalled over fears it could cause both “burns and lacerations” if used.

It has been discovered that Splosh Australia’s mugs, sold internationally and online, might crack and break when filled with hot liquids.

The breakage could lead to serious burns from the hot liquids and lacerations from the sharp edges.

Both the black ‘Super Dad’ and blue ‘My favourite child gave me this mug’ have been recalled by Product Safety Australia\ (PSA).

“There is a risk of injury from burns and lacerations from sharp edges if the mugs break during use,” PSA said in a statement.

“Consumers should stop using affected mugs immediately.”

The mugs were sold at nearly 400 independent retailers across the country, including some Terry White Chemmart and Nextra stores.

Both items were available for purchase between June 25 and September 8 this year.

PSA has urged consumers who have bought the mugs to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

More information can be found by contacting Splosh Australia on 07 3805 4718, Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm.
