Silent Butt Deadly is very controversial

Harley Quinn's latest comic has caused quite a stink, and I mean that metaphorically and literally because I'm quite the expert wordsmith. The upcoming April 1st issue, Harley Quinn Fartacular: Silent Butt Deadly, is a comic where Harley farts a lot. That seems to be the only plot point.

It has quickly become controversial just days after it was revealed. It's kind of a hassle. While many characters have had comic gags for April Fools' Day, and Harley lends herself to any number of pranks, it's rare that we hear about them beforehand. Everyone on the internet thinks the worst about each other (and it often turns out to be true), so the main theory is that someone — or several people — just love a little fart in the creation and approval process. too much very

Comic books these days need a hook

This in itself makes the discussion difficult. If you say the concept sounds cool and matches Harley's sense of humor, you run the risk of being labeled as another fart-loving fart. But go overboard with your criticism, as many (quite executively) have already, and you seem to be protesting too much.

While it's too early to promote an April Fool's comic, this strategy may be paying off now. Comics, especially future comics, rarely go viral. Although superhero movies, TV shows, and video games abound, comic book sales are on the decline. Sales of new releases in 2023 were down 73 percent from 2022, and more than half of comic book stores reported lower gross sales last year than in 2023.

And if you want to strengthen gross Selling a fart comic would certainly help. at the moment that is A joke for you

I don't think Silent Butt Deadly will save comics, nor will it be the pinnacle of the art form. It will probably be a silly little throwaway story with very obvious toilet humor. It's an April Fool's issue of Harley Quinn – we need some perspective. But growing interest in this is growing interest in comic books in general. It can get more traffic and increase sales of other issues by proxy. Every little bit helps

This is Harley Quinn humor

Although my first foray into comic books wasn't through superheroes. My grandparents had vintage annuals for The Beano going back to the 70's. I took them out of a closet when I was about eight years old and devoured them. From then on I received the latest Beano annual every year until I left home. I was a weekly subscriber to The Beano for almost a decade. I still dislike The Dandy, purely because they feel like “the other team”.

Silent Butt Deadly is less like a superhero concept and more like something you'd see in The Beano. So while many comics fans don't see it as a good fit for the medium, it feels right at home with a more open lens. The scratch-and-sniff trick is also the kind of clever idea that print media needs (you can't sniff a digital file), and the fact that most scratch-and-sniff stuff is obviously in favor of a fart comic. it works This isn't even the first time a Harley comic has been on the air.

Again, the comic doesn't help itself. While links can be made between the deadly Silent Bot and his sitcom history in the UK, this publicity thread brings it back to accusations that he enjoys farting too much for less than pleasant reasons. “If farts bother you, then this comic isn't for you (and that's totally fine!… I'm judging you, though!)” which sounds more like a disclaimer than a comic book. Although the rest of the paragraph is full of puns that are more appropriate to the topic, the stipulation is fine if you're not into it, but it makes a vanilla square useful to you.

I don't buy many comics these days. Like many hypocrites online, I am part of the problem I am rallying against. I know it's weird that Silent Butt Deadly might bring me back to physical stuff, but the connection to the comics I grew up on, the tactile nature of the trick, and the possibility that it could become one of the most infamous. Malignant issues in recent history present a very tempting proposition.
