Police were called to Glebe Point Road around 1am on April 15 following reports that a delivery man had been assaulted by a group of people while attempting to make a delivery nearby.

The group of teens fled the scene before officers arrived, but following inquiries by police a 17-year-old boy was charged at around 7.30pm on April 17.

The group of around ten young people, including women and men, were caught on camera and the footage was shared exclusively with 2GB’s Ben Fordham.

The footage depicts a man in high-vis trying to make a delivery while a group of around seven people shout at him, intimidate him and throw glass bottles.

Three young men on bikes join in, with one appearing to allegedly physically assault and pursue the man up the road.

A local resident, who gave his name as Tim, told Fordham the group of teens were loudly bragging about the delivery man being “stomped”.

“They’d been sitting there most of the night, drinking vodka,” Tim told the host.

“I found the remnants of a Smirnoff vodka bottle the next day.”

The 17-year old was charged with drive conveyance taken without consent of owner and affray.

He has been granted conditional bail to appear at Children’s Court on May 29.
