Scalpers looking to invest in a recently launched product PlayStation 5 Pro Consoles are reportedly struggling to make a profit on them. The PlayStation 5 Pro is an upgraded version of the PS5 with a faster GPU, deep learning-based image enhancement technology, and optimized games that can run at 4K and 60 FPS with 2TB of internal memory. Unlike the vanilla PS5, the Pro model does not come with a disc drive.

Trump's tariffs could make the PS5 Pro even more expensive
President-elect Donald Trump is proposing tariffs that, if implemented, would raise the price of the expensive PlayStation 5 Pro even more.
As reported by VideoGamesChronicle, multiple listings for the console on eBay UK are listing the console below the PS5 Pro's UK retail price of £700. A number of sellers are selling it for between £680 and £700, while other auctions running are putting it at between £510 and £670. While prices in these auctions will likely increase before they end, it doesn't look like they'll reach the PS5 Pro's usual MSRP.
Scalpers are selling the PS5 Pro below MSRP in Japan and the UK
The situation in other countries seems to be the same as in Japan. According to a report from research institute Otaku, while the console appears to be sold out at most Japanese retailers, stores are selling the PlayStation Pro for most of its launch day without requiring reservations. Japanese resale site Mercari has listings for between ¥10,000 and ¥20,000, which is more than the price of the PS5 Pro in Japan, but that's because Mercari takes 10% and includes shipping costs. It still leads to repeat sales. break even or resell it at a loss. Many sellers on Mercari are also selling it for less than retail, stating that it was discounted for “buying multiple items”.
While the console doesn't seem to get much mileage from scalpers, PS5 Pro disc drives are being resold at ridiculous prices and are currently being sold at every major retailer. Normally retailing for $79.99 / £99.99, the disc drive is listed at around £150-£250. Regardless of region, the console is still very expensive and controversial.
