Riyadh: Turki bin Abdullah Al-Juwaini, director general of the Human Resources Development Fund, said that the fund has helped more than 153,000 Saudi men and women to create jobs in the private sector in the first half of 2024.
Saudi Arabia News Agency reported on Tuesday that Al-Juwini said the fund had disbursed SR3.79 billion ($1 billion) to private sector institutions for education, employment and empowerment support programs during this period.
He added that 1.4 million Saudi men and women and about 100,000 institutions active in vital sectors in this country benefited from this program.
Al-Jawini emphasized the fund's commitment to keep pace with the Kingdom's development in all areas, addressing the needs of the business sector and responding to the demand for skilled national labor.
He said that the purpose of this fund is to develop the skills of Saudis, increase their participation in the labor market and encourage the private sector to participate in localization. It also worked to strengthen partnerships with institutions related to training, recruiting and empowering the national workforce and increasing their competitiveness and continuity in the labor market.
Al-Jawini said that the Fund's programs and services have helped to increase the benefits of individuals and institutions, and emphasized the Fund's continuous efforts to keep up with the changes and requirements of the labor market.
He said that the fund is also working on developing training, empowerment and mentoring programs targeting national personnel, helping to achieve the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 for human capacity development and labor market strategy.
