A Pokemon TCG Pocket player has shared footage of catching 14 heads in a row.
-
This incredible feat happened while using Lickitung's Continuous Lick.
-
This move does 60 damage with each successful coin flip, meaning this particular lick does 840 damage to a weak Fearow.
Pokemon TCG Pocket has been out for a little over a week now, and the 30 million of us who play have already determined a few things in the first ten days of the game. For starters, we've collectively determined that putting heads in a coin toss and going first during a fight is bad. However, turning heads with a Lickitung as the active Pokemon once the battle starts is a pretty good thing.
For those who haven't found the Lickitung card yet, or if you haven't used it during battle, the Pokemon has a move called Continuous Lick. This move does exactly what it says on the tin, but only if you keep turning your head. The move deals 60 damage every time you get heads, and there's no limit to the number of flips you can flip, the flipping doesn't end until you get a tail.

However, the player base is divided on whether this tactic actually works.
This is a risk because it can mean you get caught on your first flip and the move doesn't do anything. Or, as Yaaya of coupleofgaming discovered, the gamble can pay off and you can end up with what has been one of the most powerful moves in Pocket's short history yet. While playing a Pokemon Pocket battle, Yaya hit not two, not three, but 14 heads in a row.
Pocket Player deals 840 damage with a big lick
So many heads in a row, I thought the game was broken
The broadcaster shared this clip on his and his partner's Instagram page and excited them with every flip of a coin. When the flip ended, after the 15th coin landed on tails, Lickitung hit the unsuspecting Fearow with his continuous Lick, dealing 840 damage to it to pack. A move that, while incredible, might have felt a little pointless as the Fearow was already down to 70bhp, only doing so with two heads in a row.
As for the odds of this happening, the odds of landing a head 14 times in a row are 1 in 16,384. Just in case you were wondering where all the heads are in the game and why you keep gasping when trying to use the moves they need to damage landing heads, Yaaya seems to have them all. This explains why I get nothing but tails whenever I try to use Pinsir's double horns.
While someone rolling 14 heads in a row and dealing 840 damage with one lick has definitely happened, someone has opened their pack by mistake and accidentally split their virtual cards in half. That there was a risk that you could split your cards in half was one of the many urban legends about Pocket that circulated in the first week, but it was one that was quickly debunked.
