If you haven't done your Gold Star homework lately, Mudkip might be surprising to see among the most expensive Gold Star Pokemon in the TCG, but its value is undeniable. Resting in the shade, this sweet Mudkip sight makes it hard to resist buying, but the price may put you off.
Unfortunately, there is only an average game (Representative of Parliament) Retailing for $417.99 for reference, that leaves a lot of unanswered questions, but also suggests cards with light play. (LP) or near mint (NM) Terms can be extremely high. If you just want to own the card, you'll get a cheaper price for heavy gaming (HP) or the copy is damaged, although there is no current list of what you might pay.
7 Jolteon Star: Power Keepers (Super Rare) – $484.50

One of Jolteon's most valuable cards makes an electrifying entrance, as this golden star pays homage to Jolteon's original yellow background color while accentuating its glossy yellow-green palette. The crackling energy is perfectly enhanced by the glittering holo pattern, giving this card a great appeal.

Raise your game
Vaporeon keeps the Eeveelution momentum going with its awesome purple and pink glitter color palette. Although it's ultimately a matter of preference, the easily recognizable shiny colors of this Pokemon make this card stand out more than Jolteon, especially since Vaporeon contrasts against the blue background.

This card will hit your wallet hard, with damaged versions starting at $240 and sometimes even more. The MP and LP versions both exceed $500. Although neither has reached $600, the NM estimate is the likely reason for the high market price.
3 Charizard Star: Dragon Frontiers (Delta Species) – $1402.80
A strong finish from the goat
Charizard may have the most expensive card list in the Pokemon TCG, but even Kanto's most popular starter can't top the Gold Star. However, if there's ever a Charizard card that's worthy of admiration, it's the incredible art of the Pokemon's shiny palette while throwing explosive fire.

Torchic takes the cake from Charizard with one of the most popular gold stars in Pokemon history, as this Torchic commands prices usually reserved for the most popular Pokemon. While Torchic may not be as iconic as Charizard, this card has surpassed Torchic in popularity and remains so. One of the hardest gold stars to get, point, let alone in good condition.
To support this, we can look at the single sales of this card in 2024 on TCGplayer, with the HP version still selling for $500, which explains the rough estimate of the market price. While the $1,500 tag isn't backed up by a lack of data, the rarity of this card is well-documented, and if you're looking to get a better copy from HP, it'll no doubt be priced in the $1,500 range.
1 Rayquaza Star: Deoxys (Super Rare) – $1740.00
Ruler of the stars
Rayquaza claims the top spot behind one of his most valuable cards to date, with a stunning combination of this golden star. While the artwork speaks for itself, it's hard not to marvel at the level of detail, including the 3D effect of Rayquaza's claw breaking through the frame.
Unfortunately, Rayquaza's incredible popularity also makes it one of the rarest cards to find its data in any condition, and it's unlikely we'll see an influx of it anytime soon.
