A popular radio star whose shock breast cancer diagnosis led to a surge in women booking screenings has called back on her regular show to give listeners an update on her sudden battle, revealing that after emergency surgery she is still It is “a little sad”.
Adelaide's Mix 102.3 morning show host Ali Clark shocked listeners last week when she revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and would undergo a mastectomy.
On Tuesday morning, she told host Max Burford and Hayley Pearson that Friday's surgery had gone well, but she was now “walking in doors” and “a bit grumpy”.
“I'm actually home now,” he said.

“The nurses and doctors are amazing, but it's so amazing to be home and the kids can fight for not taking care of me.”
The 47-year-old mother of three cried last week as she revealed her huge cancer scare, telling Burford & Pearson on Tuesday that she was “definitely up and down”.
“I was on top, not just an adjunct, and then you kind of crash,” he said.
In a heart-wrenching moment, Clarke said she was “full on” some of the drugs doctors gave her after surgery and may have been hallucinating seeing dogs in her hospital room.
She said the after-effects of the surgery were as she had feared, telling listeners that her children had asked her to see the results and they “didn't cancel”, which she called a “huge relief”.
“It was nowhere near as confronting as what I had built in my mind,” he said.
The material collected during the surgery is now being tested, and Clark said his battle will depend on the outcome of those results.
“We are going very well, everything has gone well so far, but I still have to wait for some results,” he said.
