Although Naruto is a story that fans have come to love, that hasn't always been the case from day one. Just like any other writer, Kishimoto originally had unique plans for the Naruto series that were completely different from what appeared in the story. In fact, Kishimoto's original plans for Naruto were so shocking that some fans may not even believe that he actually intended to write them.
Naruto's journey from start to finish
- Naruto wanted people's approval
- Naruto eventually became the Seventh Hokage
Fans find Naruto's journey to be very beautiful, even though it is also full of pain and misery. It's revealed early on that Naruto is an orphan, and worst of all, easily the most hated person in the entire village, even though he's only a kid. Rejected from an early age, Kishimoto set the tone for Naruto, who at the same time was on a journey to prove everyone around him wrong. Naruto had high ambitions for himself. With the goal of becoming Hokage and having everyone recognize him, fans really resonated with his journey, and this story is what ended up being one of the best in anime and manga.
I will not give up and I will not run. I will never go back on my word. This is my ninja way! – Naruto Uzumaki
Over the years, Naruto Uzumaki has proven his worth as a fighter, and more than that, fans have seen incredibly exciting plot points built around the character. Naruto lived up to all of the fans' expectations, and when a super-exciting faction paid off and at the same time, a villainous group entered the mix, fans were treated to what could be considered one of the best stories ever told. At the end of this series, Naruto Uzumaki reached a great height. He had already gained the recognition of everyone around him and was trying to save the world. Naruto was the hero of the fourth great ninja war and saved not only his village but the entire planet.
Furthermore, his dream of surpassing everyone else in the village was definitely fulfilled, and even though Naruto didn't become Hokage at the end of the war, fans got to see him fulfill his dreams and complete his story. . At its height, while Naruto was by no means perfect, it certainly gave fans a lot of joy while also having some highs that have made the story immortal.
Kishimoto's initial ideas were strange to Naruto
Kishimoto intended to become a youkai
Fans know that Naruto is the story of a man who stood up to the world and managed to change it. but, Naruto It wasn't always going to be this story. In fact, fans know that Kishimoto's initial ideas for the series were rather outlandish, and if the story had actually gone ahead with the idea, it likely wouldn't have been half as successful as it ended up being. Of course, nothing can be said for sure, but, at first glance, it is clear to fans that Naruto's original idea was very questionable.
Perseverance is what makes us shinobi. – Narrator
During a 2014 interview, Naruto's writer made it clear that his original plan for the series was based around a ramen shop and a man who frequents it. The idea here was apparently to make a story about straightening out life, and while the concept itself was interesting, it didn't meet the expectations of publishers at the time.

Kishimoto reveals why Neji's death drew one of the most controversial character conclusions in the Naruto manga.
Even Kobayashi, whom Kishimoto interviewed, stated that he lacked Shonen Jump's story elements. This was just the beginning of Kishimoto's ideas. He continued to work on them over time, but took Naruto's name from a failed story attempt. As time went on, Kishimoto then proceeded to create a story that was not about ninjas, but about youkai. That's right, the original Naruto series wasn't even about ninjas and featured a fox who could turn into a human. But, once again, the idea wasn't something the publishers were too keen on and eventually, one thing led to another and the fox turned into a human instead. In this version of Kishimoto's story, they were more than just youkai, and it seems that the idea of having all these creatures as main characters really appealed to him. Perhaps the reason why Kurama is humanized the way he is is due to Kishimoto's original ideas.
Would Naruto have succeeded with Kishi's original ideas?
Whether Naruto succeeded or not is hard to say
Whether Kishimoto's initial ideas would have led to a success story is hard to predict. On paper, they certainly don't sound like good ideas. A story centered around a ramen shop, and at the same time, a main character who is actually a fox who can turn into a human, doesn't sound as interesting as what Naruto came up with. The reason Naruto was as successful as it was was because it made such a strong impression and the main character was someone fans could relate to. Kishimoto has said in the past that Naruto is a very relatable person even for him. With a fox that can turn into a human, and a story that revolves around setting up life, it certainly wouldn't have conveyed the same feeling.
Again, these different stories could apply to magical fans in different ways. It's not really possible to say for sure if they were successful or not, but it's unlikely that Kishimoto's initial ideas for Naruto were as successful as what fans ended up seeing with the final product.
It's also interesting to note that Kishimoto's second manga, Samurai 8, ended up being a flop, meaning that many of Kishimoto's ideas probably aren't good. But, he just needed a bright idea to turn Naruto into a legendary story, and fans are happy that the story Naruto He went the way he went
Kishimoto recently announced that he plans to work on a new manga, and hopefully he'll deliver in a big way when he returns to Jump.
