How to unlock the elevator in Alan Wake 2: The Lake House
When you first enter the lake house, you will see a room on the left that is lit. Unfortunately, the door is locked and is the only way to enter the room. Take the elevator in the middle of this area and go to the co-director's office.
Along the walls of the office you will see various documents that you can interact with and read. On the desk, you will find a locked computer and a note that the password must be changed every day.
Here are a few things to remember when trying to figure out a password:
- The maximum password is six digits.
- The first four digits are always the same while the last two digits change.
- The two digits being changed cannot be the current date.
As complicated as this may seem, all the clues you need to solve this puzzle are in the office. On the table, a calendar page for September 14 and the number “38” is in large font. On the other side of the notebook is a framed notebook. In this note, you will see July 18 as the start date. Now you have all the information you need to solve this puzzle.
Approach the computer and enter the password 071838. This unlocks the computer and gives you access to a security program and some email. Use the security app to unlock that door you couldn't unlock before. Go to the newly opened room to find Security Key Card 01. This card is high enough to allow you to unlock the elevator and go to the next floor of the Lake House.
