Mario and Luigi: Brotherhood needs to prioritize gameplay in order to move the series forward
Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood marks the return of a beloved Nintendo franchise, but it also faces the challenge of reviving a series that has been dormant for nearly a decade. As the first new story in the series since the closure of its original developer, AlphaDream, Brotherhood bears the burden of reviving the magic that made the previous Mario and Luigi games so beloved.
How to fast travel in Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood
Fast travel is done through green and blue tubes, with Green pipes that go from one place to another on an islandand Water tubes leading to and from other islands. Blue pipes are found at the beginning of where you spawn on an island and on Shipshape Island, and blue pipes can only take you to the starting areas of other islands. Green Pipes have designated locations that lead to them, which are usually a bit further to the island you're already on. Green Pipes are initially on the block that you have to jump to in order to unlock that location as a fast travel point.
Mario will jump on a green pipe and interact with it It will take you to a predetermined location on that island While interacting with a water pipe, a map will open with all the available islands that you can travel to.
There is no way to fast travel to the other island via the green pipe or anywhere deep within the island, meaning you have to make your way back to the beginning of the island to leave, but Green Pipes make this journey easier. When you first travel to an island, there is no way to fast travel from that island until it reconnects. While you can explore the green pipes on that island for fast travel, you'll be stuck until you can finish that island's story.

Should you go back to previous islands in Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood?
While you can try to complete all of an island's content on your first trip, more content will unlock once you leave, giving you more reasons to revisit whenever you can.
- Search for Sprite Bulbs
- Connect an island It opens new paths on the island To reach new places
- Coming back with new tools allows you to overcome previous obstacles.
- Side missions almost always require returning to previous islands.
In addition to these options, it's always a good idea to go back and level up before going to a new island because you never want to get stuck on an island that's too difficult for your current level.
