Brighter Shores: How Knowledge Points Work
Knowledge points make it easier to level up your professions on brighter shores. Here's a simple guide to help you understand how they work.
How to find the cave butterfly on brighter shores
After talking to the strange skulk creature in the waterfall and asking for help with the staircase, he agrees to help you – but only if you bring him a Shiny Amethyst. This gem was discovered in the mine by a miner named Sammy Clod, so you have to look for him to get one of these crystals. Sammy Clod can be found in the Northwest Mine Cave, located on the northwest side of the Mantuban Mine. When you see him, ask for a shiny amethyst. Instead of giving you one, Sammy tells you to get it yourself. In addition, he mentions that the cave butterfly can guide you to the location of this gem.
The location of the cave butterfly on the lighter shores
To find the butterfly cave in Brighter shores, Go to Mine Cart Cave. Luckily, it's near the northwest mining cave, where you meet Sammy Cloud. To get there, turn west from the northwest mining cave and you'll see the butterfly. Like real life, this little bug is brown in color and has beautiful markings on its wings.
When you enter the Mine Cart cave, you will see the butterfly flying to the east. This will guide you through a jagged junction (east), a rat-infested tunnel (south), a rat-infested intersection (south), and finally to the Ratty Terminal (south). If at any point the propeller stops moving forward, you can click on it and hit the “Near” button to fly to the destination. Fortunately, the areas that Moth moves you to have passive enemies that won't attack until provoked, including the Ugly Beastman (level 20) and Bristle Giant Rat (level 27), so you don't have to worry about them.
At Ratty Terminus, you'll find a cave butterfly hovering next to a shiny amethyst. This gem is embedded in the cave, and to get it you need to upgrade your Episode Three exclusive miner career to level 10. After approaching the shiny rock, the cave butterfly will fly away.
