How to complete the cleanup! The Scent in the Cavern in Infinity Nikki

As you play infinite goodnessyou will encounter a large number of missions that offer useful rewards. One of the first worthwhile efforts, “Refinement! It's called “Scent in the Cave” which introduces players to Whim perfumes and unlocks your first Whim perfume upon completion.

Whim perfumes are special perfumes that when created and used on a garment, give the garment more power. In this case, completing “Purify! The Scent in the Cavern” on infinite goodness Travel Scent unlocks Musing, which allows you to charge your raids with Cleansing Clothes to turn them into House Shots.

Erase! Perfume in the cave

The quest begins when you encounter a mysterious man sweeping the road north of Florawish. He mutters to himself about the treasure in the cave, attracting the attention of Nikki and Momo. He asks for their help to deal with Sling further down the road. They shouldn't pose any threat to Nikki, so use the Cleansing Suit to deal with them and return to the man (whose name is Eremita) to report.

When you return, she thanks Nikki and tells her about a nearby cave that holds valuable treasure for the stylists. Heed his advice and then check the cave. In the cave, you can find a journal that mentions something called “Perfume of Lust”. From here continue forward in the cave to find a large room with a chest and some Esselings to fight. Clean them out, break the chest and then go inside.

There's an area up ahead with ledges to jump on and Esselings on the ground below, so jump from a ledge to that ledge to get some Bling, then deal with the Esselings (we'll need them for the stuff they drop later had) and take some Dew. From Elham, further down the cave to the next room, you'll find a section you can climb (near a log you can sit on).

Jump over the gap shown above and go forward and up. You'll encounter Esselings that can throw projectile attacks in the path ahead, but they'll still sink in one hit so won't be much of a problem. Just past the Esseling projectile, you can take a detour to the right to find Vimstar. By following the main path you will turn to another jump.

Float over to where the Blings are and you'll come to a tunnel full of Esselings. Take them out with the cleanup suit (watch out for the ones that spit the projectiles so you don't get hit) and you can open the chest you walk right past them. This chest contains a herbal scent, which is what Eremita sent you to find. There's a hole nearby that takes you to the entrance, so head back to Eremita to learn more about your new treasure.

Upon returning to Eremita, he explains that similar materials can be found in other caves throughout the land and can be used in making Whim perfumes. He then tasks you with making the Musings Whim travel perfume. Open it in the Heart of Infinity menu, then craft it (one particular ingredient can be a bit tricky, so I've included a section below on how to find it easier) and talk to Eremita again to complete the quest.

How to find a patch problem

The most disappointing ingredient found in Mazing's travel recipe is called the “cunning patch”. These are removed by Spear Sacks, an enemy that spawns in several different locations throughout the game. You'll encounter a few of them in the Cavern while retrieving the herbal scent, but you'll need to find a few more to get the ingredients. A few spawn in the area shown on the map above (The Secret Base Warp Spire is the closest.)

After getting all the crafty bits you can in the area mentioned earlier, you can get more by going to the woods marked in the image above and looking for Spear Sacks there (nearest Warp Spire, Florawish Lane).
