Ancestral item drop sources
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred It's making major changes to the end-game loot chase. Most activities will have their rewards optimized, and endgame items will be updated to Ancestral items via a small rework. Every item you got from World Tier 4 used to be called an Ancestral item, but starting with Vessel of Hatred, that's no longer the case.
Ancestral items are harder to find than ever, but the pinnacle of power has never been greater. Finding the right Ancestral item will increase your character's damage and overall survivability, which you need to overcome Torment's highest difficulties. Let's take a look at how Ancestral items change in Vessel of Hatred and cover some sources of significant drop.
What are ancestral items?
Ancestral items are stronger variants of pre-existing legendary and unique equipment. Think of Ancestral as a quality label on items, not a rarity. You'll start getting Ancestral gear in Torment difficulties. If you've played Diablo 4 in previous seasons, you may remember that Ancestral items dropped in World Tier 4. This is similar to how they work now, but Ancestral items are a step up from your average Legendary.
Holy items no longer drop in Diablo 4. Any equipment that was previously Sacred will now be labeled as “Legacy”.
An ancestral item has the following benefits:
- Power of 800 items: The power of all Ancestral items is reduced by 800 items, the highest in the game.
- Item power determines the weapon's base damage, armor's base defense rating, and all attachment ranges.
- Larger Attachments: At least one large Affix appears on Ancestral equipment, which removes a random attachment by 50%.
- Limitation of main work: You can master an Ancestral item up to 12 times, up from 8.
Once fully upgraded, an Ancestral item is arguably twice as powerful as your everyday Legendary, possibly higher if you're lucky enough to get multiple Greater Affixes on your item. Unique can also be as ancestral itemshas the same benefits. Mythic Uniques are always placed as Ancestral gear now, so you can expect bigger Affixes on any Mythic you find.
What is the Greater Affix?
All Ancestral items you find will have at least one extension (a stat on your item) with a white star next to it. This is known as a large Affix, which means that the adhesive is stronger than usual. Affix Greater takes the stat line, maxes it, then makes it 50% stronger. This is very powerful for items with large stat ranges like Fists of Fate.
Legendary Gear can have up to three large Affixes, as a Legendary can naturally remove with them. Unique can be up to four. Larger attachments do no Appear in implicit cases or aspects.
Enchanter a bigger glue
If you re-enchant a Greater Affix into a different state, the Greater Affix will be lost.

What is the best source of ancestral equipment?
In our opinion, it should be so A lot of hell and Mercantile warehouses. Infernal Hordes retain their GA chest from Chapter 5, but the general equipment chest is gone. Regardless of how much currency you earn, you can effectively get one Ancestral item per run.
The second method is the mercenary exchange system. In Vessel of Hatred, earning XP when mercenaries are in your party gains fame with them, such as seasonal vendors. Once their XP bar is full, you level up the mercenary and earn rewards. This includes upgrades to the commodity exchange system and Pale Marks, the currency used to purchase mercenary items.
Trading can get your ancestral accessories completely. You can refresh the vendor's stock with pale signs, and fish for the right ancestral item to appear in their shop. What is more efficient is this Buy Aspect Caches These grant five random legendary items with a small chance of an ancestral drop. Faint tokens are relatively easy to obtain, so you should always buy these caches when available.
