Koudelka is a fantastic horror JRPG that celebrates the works of gothic masters like Mary Shelley and the stories of Eldritch Lovecraft. It's a unique JRPG in many ways, and so are its sequels. Shadow Heartswith each title hosting multiple endings and an all-encompassing story of occult mysticism and magic.
JRPG combat is at its slowest in this game, with combat mostly due to tanky enemies and some slow animations that can really slow down this fantastic game.

A great sci-fi horror title that gets away with enemies
prey out of Arkane Studios is an impressive and engaging sci-fi horror title that has a lot going for it in terms of environment design and overall narrative. Talos 1 may be a small place, but it's full of character.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the game's combat, which disappointed many due to its lack of weight and impact, along with a shallow variety of useful weapons and enemy placement.
2 Resident Evil 2
Combat can detract from an otherwise great atmosphere
Another entry in the horror genre, Resident Evil 2 and its predecessor were equally impressive. Silent Hill Bringing horror to a whole new medium, the start of a franchise that's home to some of the best survival horror games of all time.
However, the combat misses the mark in this game, the fights in general feel unsatisfying and unsatisfying. Unlike the previous title, the fights are more visible in this game, and this draws more attention to its shortcuts.
