Genshin Impact: Highest Earning Banners

Key Takeaways

  • Genshin Impact’s character banners, particularly those featuring popular characters like Zhongli and Ganyu, have generated millions of dollars in revenue, making it one of the most expensive gacha games around.
  • The introduction of new characters boosts banner sales, with players tempted to spend Primogems on both characters and their weapon banners.
  • Characters like Raiden Shogun and Ayaka have proven to be highly popular and versatile, attracting players with their flexible support and damage-dealing abilities, making them worthwhile investments.

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play game, but it’s also ironically one of the most expensive gacha games in recent years. Many players whaled for their favorite characters. It’s not surprising to see its exclusive character banners hit the million-dollar mark in revenues while taking into account the weapon banners.

Genshin Impact: Best Characters For Overworld Exploration

If you’re just out to explore the world of Genshin Impact and discover everything you can while staying alive, these characters are the best choice.

According to Genshinlab, these character banners earned the most in the China IOS market. There is no available information on international rankings, nor is there any data present for other platforms outside of IOS. But these characters are player favorites, with some being waited on by players for months on end.

Updated November 4, 2024 by Tallis Spalding: Genshin Impact is as much in the limelight as ever, still garnering a great deal of attention with every update. With the new region that was released, Natlan, it’s worth taking a look at what the highest-earning Genshin banner sales are, and, by extension, what the most pulled Genshin character banners are. Unsurprisingly, people still love their support and healing characters, which makes sense: a good support (or even a good sub-dps) can make or break a team. Thankfully, with regular banner re-runs, you hopefully won’t miss out on some of the most pulled characters that Genshin Impact has to offer.

14 Xianyun & Nahida (2nd Rerun)

Xianyun's splash art and Nahida's splash art.

USD $25,670,109

Xianyun may not be one of the most well-rounded characters to have ever hit the market, but she is still on one of the highest-earning Genshin banners, and for good reason, she makes exploration a breeze. Xianyun’s abilities make coasting across the expansive map in Genshin Impact an absolute delight and incredibly easy.

Nahida is one of the best sub-DPS characters that you can get your hands on, and when paired with an Electro or Hydro character, her rapidly triggered Dendro effect makes for an incredibly powerful and dangerous elemental combination.

13 Zhongli & Ganyu

Zhongli and Ganyu Banner Art in Genshin Impact.

Revenue: $26,780,298

Zhongli’s unmatched shielding ability and Ganyu’s big damage numbers are two good reasons why you probably spent on both characters. If you only had one of the two, you most likely pulled for the character you still didn’t have. Not to mention, Zhongli’s last rerun at the time was six months ago.

Ganyu herself is a character frequently used in the Spiral Abyss, and the introduction of the Dendro element in Genshin Impact at the time of her banner didn’t make her less popular. Melt reactions improved with the new element, which made Ganyu a worthwhile investment.

12 Wanderer & Itto

Wanderer and Itto Banner Art in Genshin Impact.

Revenue: $27,126,505

Wanderer’s release was heavily anticipated by many Genshin Impact fans. You were probably there when Wanderer, formerly known as Scaramouche, appeared in the Unreconciled Stars Event. People have been waiting for his banner since, and the hype remained strong until his banner dropped.

Geo might be one of the least reactive elements in Genshin Impact, but some characters from this element can still give you good value.

Arataki Itto’s rerunning with Wanderer also boosted banner sales, since he’s a strong five-star Geo damage dealer with a hilarious personality. Even if you didn’t pull for him, his and Wanderer’s weapon banners probably tempted you to spend Primogems since they’re both amazing weapons.

11 Nahida & Nilou

Genshin Impact, Nahida and Nilous banner art.

Revenue: $28,019,235

These two characters are a package deal. Nahida, The Lord of Dendro, is notable for her AoE, and Nilou is known for her great compatibility with Dendro and her explosive elemental burst. If put in the same team, Nilou and Nahida are capable of creating destructive bloom reactions.

This was Nahida’s first banner, and there was a lot of hype surrounding her—and this was Nilou’s first rerun. Given proof of Nilou’s amazing and cost-effective gameplay and versatility, it’s easy to see why people wished for her. They’re also both budget-friendly damage dealers, which is why many players understandably pulled for at least one of them.

10 Furina & Baizhu (1st Rerun)

Furina and Baizhu Banner Art, Genshin Impact.

USD $29,234,126

Both Furina and Baizhu are excellent support and exploration characters, which makes it understandable that their first rerun banner ended up being one of the highest-earning Genshin Banners.

Furina provides a duality, dealing damage and working as one of the best healers in Genshin Impact. Plus, both of her skill sets allow her to run on water – something that is absurdly helpful when exploring. Baizhu provides wonderful health scaling and party healing, which can make your setup far more tanky and durable, especially if you’re trying to grind world bosses for materials.

9 Venti

Genshin Impact, Venti with his hand on a tree trunk while holding a bottle and smiling.

Revenue: $30,632,752

The Anemo Archon has one of the highest-earning single banners in Genshin Impact history, which is a great feat considering that he was able to out-earn double-character limited banners. But Venti did take a while to rerun, taking an entire patch before he returned as a limited banner.

He’s a mainstay on freeze teams with his neat burst, which vacuums any small enemy into a black hole. But abilities aside, Venti is a great friend to the Traveler, and he’s a likable character who always has your back.

8 Yelan & Xiao

Yelan and Xiao Banner Art in Genshin Impact.

Revenue: $32,177,144

The only one lamenting in this banner is your wallet. Yelan’s gameplay was groundbreaking, and at that time, a fully constellated Yelan could speedrun the Spiral Abyss all by herself. But even a C0 support Yelan was strong with a free-to-play weapon. The Conqueror of Demons, Xiao, wasn’t a new character—but he’s been a solid anemo DPS up to date.

Xiao and Yelan aren’t compatible as teammates, but both of them are strong characters that had you torn during their double banner event. It doesn’t help that both characters appeared in The Chasm’s Archon Quest at the time, which might’ve made you like them a little more.

7 Raiden Shogun

Genshin Impact, Raiden Shogun sitting under a cherry blossom holding a small cup of sake.

Revenue: $33,020,905

She stepped out of the Plane of Euthymia, but she’ll forever be a mainstay in many great team compositions in Genshin Impact. It probably helps that, lore-wise, she’s considered to be one of the most powerful characters in the entire game. .

The popular “Rational” (Raiden International) Team composed of Raiden Shogun, Xiangling, Bennett, and Kazuha had been a consistent team composition in the Spiral Abyss. She’s also a great character to wish for as a free-to-play player in terms of weapon choice and team flexibility, which is why she remains a popular pick even in double-banner events.

6 Raiden Shogun & Kokomi

Raiden Shogun and Kokomi Banner Art in Genshin Impact.

Revenue: $33,560,259

Who would’ve thought that Sangonomiya Kokomi and the Raiden Shogun would have one of the highest-earning banners in Genshin Impact history? Not a lot of people, since many players were skeptical of Sangonomiya Kokomi’s utility until she proved to be indispensable in freeze teams.

Kokomi is also a great healer which is often required in the Spiral Abyss depending on the enemies you’re about to face. For those that need neither a hydro element character nor a healer, the Raiden Shogun’s awaited rerun was enough to convince you to wish.

5 Nahida & Yoimiya

Nahida and Yoimiya Banner Art in Genshin Impact.

Revenue: $34,017,290

Nahida beat her record, and not too many patches after her release, she reran with Yoimiya. After testing Nahida’s team compositions, it’s safe to say that she’s proven her worth as the Dendro Archon and as a party member of your team. Her elemental skill and burst apply Dendro in a way no other character up to date could.

Yoimiya’s banner, on the other hand, is just as good of a banner to pull on if you were looking for a single-target pyro damage dealer. This fireworks artisan is known for lighting up more than just the sky and is notorious for destroying single-target enemies in seconds.

4 Ayaka Rerun

Genshin IMpact, Ayaka holding a folding fan while cherry blossom petals float around her.

Revenue: $35,939,066

For a single, limited-character banner to earn this much is a testament to people’s love for Kamisato Ayaka. Let’s forget that she had the longest-running banner in the game and focus on her amazing damage-dealing abilities as a cryo DPS. Many can attest that Ayaka is already strong—and she only gets stronger with her signature weapon, the Mistsplitter Reforged.

The Best DPS Characters In Genshin Impact, Ranked

Genshin Impact has an ever-growing cast of characters, but not all of them can dish out serious damage. Here are the best DPS options, ranked.

She’s core to many freeze teams and even rivals Ganyu in melt teams. Even with her primary role as a damage dealer, she’s also a good support character for other DPS characters that rely on elemental reactions.

3 Ayaka & Shenhe

Ayaka and Shenhe Banner Art in Genshin Impact.

Revenue: $35,962,024

Ayaka as a strong cryo DPS and Shenhe as an essential cryo damage buffer is a recipe for skyrocketing sales. Shenhe herself is essential in any team with a cryo damage dealer, which makes her a must-pull for most players who enjoy playing with cryo characters.

If you didn’t have neither Ayaka nor Ganyu at this time, wishing on both Ayaka and Shenhe’s banner at the same time was tempting. If you were determined to beat the Abyss rotation at the time, you probably did.

2 Raiden Shogun & Ayato

Raiden Shogun and Ayato Banner Art in Genshin Impact.

Revenue: $37,919,130

Kamisato Ayato had been a speculative character for months, and when his character model was released, many players threw their Primogems for him. He has stunning burst animation, a visually appealing character design, and a great kit to back him up as a hydro damage dealer.

The Raiden Shogun, on the other hand, is popular and works extremely well with Ayato in electro-charged teams, and more notably, in Dendro team compositions. Both these characters are excellent to slot in Dendro teams, with Raiden Shogun dominating the aggravate reaction and Ayato doing well in hyperbloom teams.

1 Hu Tao & Yelan

Hu Tao and Yelan Banner Art in Genshin Impact.

Revenue: $46,556,153

Hu Tao was once dubbed the Queen of the Spiral Abyss, and it’s all because of her record-breaking elemental burst damage and her speedruns in the Spiral Abyss. She is notorious for dealing exponential damage numbers through the Vaporize reaction, which made Yelan’s rerun with Hu Tao extremely timely.

You might’ve had a strong urge to wish on both of these Abyss-breaking characters at the time. Their kits complement each other, and their weapon banner was one of the best in Genshin Impact history. The Staff of Homa and the Aqua Simulacra are two weapons that many players hope to have.
