I've never been one to collect Funko Pops, though Funko Fusion It still caught my eye. Its odd concept of combining completely unrelated entertainment franchises into a third-person shooter intrigued me, and when it became clear that lego Video games, I was on the board even more. But after the game Funko FusionI would say that Funko fans should buy the vinyl figures instead.
Funko FusionThe odd set of random IP sounds like a fun idea on paper, but it doesn't work in practice. List of representative franchises in Funko Fusion Runs the area Five nights at Freddy's to mega medisplayed through unlockable characters and playable stages. Seven of the franchises have complete worlds where most of the action takes place, though it's like IPs that have been chosen for that focus. This is confusing Umbrella AcademyYears after its peak popularity and the release of an almost universal final season, it has five levels dedicated to it, while something more culturally relevant in 2024, such as invincibleThere is only one. And while I love Edgar Wright's hilarious 2007 action comedy hot phaseIt is strange that it has five levels instead of the level itself glory of the deadwhich is easily the most popular movie.
However, it can be fun to find certain characters like Chucky from them Child's play in Funko Fusionand it's all absurd, which at least makes things entertaining on some level. The developers are clearly interested in the IP shown in it Funko Fusionwith clever touches like number five of Umbrella Academy from a distance instead of dodging like other playable characters in the game. It's also nice to see the worlds of these franchises recreated, and hardcore fans of the IPs will get entertainment value from exploring certain levels.
But when it comes to actually playing the game, Funko Fusion It's a disaster that players quickly forget the chaotic appeal of seeing random franchises thrown up on the dart board when they're in the trenches trying to play the game. normal Funko Fusion The level is a mostly open area where players walk around, solve simple puzzles with vague objectives, and shoot tons of Funko Pops at enemies. It can be confusing at times to know where to go or what to do, and the game suffers from a lot of repetition and bugs. Players don't know if they can't advance the story because they don't know what to do or if the game isn't working right.

And even when everything works fine, Funko Fusion Goals can be incredibly frustrating. Different levels have escort missions which are rarely fun. One of the annoying escort missions can be found in a jurassic world A stage where players have to escort a gyroball through an area they have already explored in the previous level. Players must keep enemies away from the ball and stay close to it to set it in motion, but touching the ball knocks players down. This happens a dozen times or more until players reach the end of the level. Combine this with severe latency jurassic world Levels seem to suffer and players won't want to replay them.
Unfortunately, open Funko FusionSecret characters and levels often mean replaying previously completed stages, which only adds to the repetitiveness of the game. Taking a page from lego In the playbook, players are encouraged to play levels using different characters with unique abilities that can then be used to solve puzzles that were impossible to complete in the initial stage. In theory, this gives Funko Fusion It has a lot of replay value, but since the levels are already so bad to play, the thought of replaying them gives one a deep sense of dread.
Funko Fusion Boss Fights are awful
Funko FusionThe biggest problems are displayed in its terrible boss fights. like its surfaces, Funko Fusion Boss fights are repetitive, buggy, and often take too long. Many bosses rely on a ground pound attack that sends out a shockwave for players to jump over, and for the most part, killing them is by shooting them at weak points or tediously filling a pipe with purple wedges. Bosses are annoying because they often take a long time to take damage, and even then, some of them take so long to kill that players start to question the game as a bug.
But while Funko FusionThe boss fights are terrible, 10:10 Games, to their credit, have made huge improvements compared to when the game first came out. The newest Funko Fusion The update has rebalanced some of the bosses to make them more tolerable, mainly by eliminating the constantly respawning enemies. Before updating, Funko Fusion Not only did players have to deal with bosses, but in some cases, there was an endless barrage of enemies that made it difficult to focus on the fight itself. These enemies often interrupt drink animations as well, making healing or activating buffs much more tedious than they need to be. After updating, Funko FusionBoss fights have definitely improved, although their original design is still lacking.
The final boss fight at the end Funko Fusion The worlds end with kaiju-like battles where players don't really participate and instead watch the action, which is anti-climactic to say the least. Stories told in any world also suffer from lack of proper payoff Umbrella Academy The world is one of the worst criminals. The first two missions tell the story of season 1, but season 2 is mostly omitted, and then the final two stages take place in season 3. It's impossible to follow or care. Funko Fusion tries to lego The game's simple way of telling the story is a poor imitation.
Funko Fusion
The latest inventory update has also improved progression, so players can unlock new worlds faster and reach the final boss without having to complete all bonus levels.
From the unfunny cutscenes to the overall concept, Funko Fusion Often referred to as an overseas brand lego The game tries to replicate things like the joy of smashing every object in sight, but delivers something much more satisfying because most of the objects players can hit don't even break. Most of the time they jump, spin, and shoot small orbs that have a pattern. Funko FusionCurrency Players can use said currency in machines spread throughout the levels to receive healing items and weapons, as well as crafting critical items needed to pass each level. I think this is supposed to be Funko FusionEquivalent to buildable objects in lego Games, but like other ways Funko Fusion Attempt to copy lego Games do not create the same excitement.
A defining characteristic of lego The games support cooperative. predictable, Funko Fusion The collaboration was confirmed a long time ago, but as of this writing it is not available in the game. Funko Fusion It's getting online co-op in October, but not having such an important feature available at launch is a really tough call. Anyone interested in playing Funko Fusion As long as co-op is in the game, you've done it, and the levels aren't fun enough to justify playing it again with a friend.
Funko Fusion Its cool concept gets bogged down with inferior gameplay, and it's hard to see how co-op could make it more tolerable. As mentioned, the latest update is game balance has Made it at least a little bit better, and so maybe future updates will make a bigger difference than expected.
Funko Fusion It's available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, with Switch and PS4 releases on November 15. Game Rant was provided with a PC code for this review.
