Cairo: Egyptian statistics agency CAPMAS showed on Thursday that Egypt's annual urban consumer price inflation fell to 25.7 percent in July from 27.5 percent in June, a faster rate of decline than analysts had expected. Month-on-month, prices fell 0.4 percent in July, down from 1.6 percent in June. Food prices fell 0.3 percent in July, although they were still 28.5 percent higher than a year earlier. Egypt is one of the largest importers of wheat in the world, importing about 5.5 million tons annually to provide subsidized bread for millions of people.
