Dragon Age: Guardian of the Veil – A Crow and a Gentleman

Start of the quest – where to find Candide's Luck

To locate your target, Chance Candide, start by following the search indicators to the market. If you turn on Treviso's fast travel lights again, you can teleport there, but if you do, you'll miss the Antaam Massacre located just outside the market. If this is your first trip through Burnt Treviso, you will find a blight obstacle in your way. The welds you need to break are on the right side of the barrier and on the outside of the wooden wall you went through to get to the barrier.

How to unblock the bridge

On your way south to the sunken area, you'll likely come across a bridge with a blight barrier in the way. The other path leads to the locked area, and to continue, you'll need to figure out how to unblock the bridge.

You've probably come across burnt plugs blocking the way, but this time, the plugs are dark too. What you need to do is use Davrin's Blight Hunter to attack the pale blight abscess to the right of the bridge. Doing so will light up the corks on the far and near walls around the bridge, and popping both will allow you to cross the bridge.

Blight Hunter is temporary, and if you don't hit both boils within seconds, you'll have to use it again.

Of course, just like the market square barrier, the bridge barrier is there even before this side quest begins. If you've explored Treviso earlier, you can teleport directly to the sunken area's lighthouse.

How to beat Candide Chance

From the sunken area lighthouse, go southeast to the sinking houses. You'll see a burning pillar in the back, and you may have to fight some poles to get to it. Before proceeding, make sure you defeat them all as the extra enemies will make the fight against Chance more difficult.

When you're ready, take out the three indicated burn hot spots, then attack the top of the blight column. Blighted Chance jumps out and attacks. Chance is a level 30 enemy that is strong against necrotic damage but weak against fire. He also has an armor bar and uses melee attacks exclusively.

Aside from Chance, you can also expect to fight hurlock spikers and giants that spawn constantly. The only way to stop them is to kill Chance, so be mobile and focus your attacks on the boss. The moment he goes down, all the smaller clans in the area disappear on the spot.

When Chance takes his last breaths, return to the Crows' Hideout to complete this quest. Your rewards include 200 Gold, 5 Fade-Touched Crystals and +250 Crows Strength.
