Disney Dreamlight Valley adds a “New Edit Mode Controls” key

Gameloft decided to highlight one of these newest additions in a recent tweet, noting that Jungle Getaway is an alternative control scheme for Dreamlight Disney Valley Editing Mode Specifically, players can now choose between using the old free-flowing cursor or locking it in place so it's always centered on the screen. This functionality, which is only available to controller users, can be managed by navigating to the Controls tab in the Settings page and interacting with the “New Edit Mode Controls” key.

While the new mode pins the cursor to the center of the screen by default, it's technically intended as a hybrid control scheme. In particular, it still allows for cursor movement by holding down an additional button, so the only thing that's really different is the default pointer behavior. Gameloft's reasoning for implementing this change is believed to be due to complaints from some players that in late June 2024 and after release Dreamlight Disney ValleyLucky Dragon update, which removed the original cursor in favor of a hybrid version that not everyone liked.

The game editing mode has also seen other changes throughout 2024. For example, the Lucky Dragon patch added the ability to quickly copy furniture, while modifying camera movement based on position, making it faster when zooming in and slower when zooming out. Hence, the second change makes the camera more accurate and slower.

Since edit mode controls enter key mode, Dreamlight Disney Valley It has already received another update which came in the form of a hotfix for the PlayStation version of the game on October 11th. This minor version includes optimizations designed to address some visual stuttering and lag reported by PS4 and PS5 users. Gameloft's track record suggests that even more hotfixes could be around the corner, as the developer usually focuses on fixing bugs and performance issues every time a major release is released.
