Dead by Daylight Update adds new characters

Behavior Interactive has released another original chapter for Dead by Daylight, introducing new characters to its horror game.

Tommy: A beautiful but terrifying immortal monster

On the surface, Tomi Kawakami looks like nothing more than an unusually beautiful young woman with black hair and a distinctive beauty mark under her eyes. But, in reality, he is an inhuman, immortal monster with infinite potential for cruelty. Her origins are mysterious, but she appears to be an evil, succubus-like creature that can make people obsessed with her or drive them mad simply by spending enough time in her presence.

Tommy's primary powers include the ability to induce obsessions in men and terrifying paranoid hysteria in women. Affected individuals will commit acts of disturbing violence, including murder and cannibalism. A person targeted by Tommy, especially a woman, can potentially become another version of Tommy, especially if they come into contact with his blood (eg through a blood transfusion). He can also “rejuvenate” excess tumors from his body similar to tumor reproduction.

Tommy is one of Junji Ito's most popular characters

Junji Ito introduced the world to Tommy in 1987 when a collection of short stories featuring him appeared in the magazine. Monthly Halloween Since then, he has produced a number of Tommy-centric anthologies. He has also featured in short stories alongside some of his other iconic characters, such as the cursed child Souichi.

Tommy's stories have been adapted into a series of live-action films, a television drama called Tommy: Another face, and a novel titled Tommy: Replay. Episodes featuring Tommy also appeared in both 2018 animated series Junji Ito collection and its successor in 2023 Junji Ito Maniac, which was broadcast on Netflix. A Tomie series was also planned for the Quibi TV platform, but its fate after Quibi's shutdown in 2020 is unclear.

Dead By Daylight's Tommy concludes from his appearance in The Painter

Dead by Daylight's Tommy, a legendary skin for the Ghost Slayer, is mainly inspired by the short story titled. the painter the painter It appeared as a chapter in the second volume of the original edition Tommy manga, and was later adapted into one episode Junji Ito collection.

in painter, An artist named Murray falls in love with Tommy and wants to paint a perfect portrait of him. Eventually, she sees a photo of him taken by a friend, and realizes that Tommy is a monster, as she sees a second, terrifying face emerge from behind his beautiful face. Murray paints Tommy like this, angering him and causing him to kill him (because he doesn't know he's immortal.) He cuts him into pieces, and over time, each piece becomes a perfect copy of the original Tomie. Murray is said to have gone mad after encountering Tommy.

Dead by Daylight's Tommy's skin sees her wearing the short white dress of that story, with two faces – one ugly and one beautiful – pointing in different directions. The unique vocal lines accompanying the skin feature Tommy screaming, possibly a reference to his death from being dismembered by Murray. He is a fearsome killer that the remnants of the survivors will definitely find strange as they pursue them in collaboration with Junji Ito. Dead by Daylight In January 2025
