Interview: Marvel Snap Developer Talks Time-Limited High Voltage Mode
Marvel Snap design director Ben Hayes reveals details on the development of the limited-time high-voltage mode.
in an official capacity Marvel Snap In a blog post detailing the game mode, the developers explain their goals: “Where Battle Mode explores longer matches with a lot of information about the opponent's games, and Deadpool's Diner focuses more on gameplay, High Voltage checks From each spectrum you will play fast games with lots of hidden information and the focus will be on amazing combinations of cards.”
The high voltage mode is explained
- Type: event
- The duration of the game: 1-2 minutes per match
- The duration of the event: 7 days (ends on October 24th at 12:00 p.m. PST)
- currency: Volt
- reward: Free card (Agony)
The high voltage state is a time limited event Marvel Snap which emphasizes fast gameplay. Each match consists of three rounds, each round starting with a random number of energy points. You cannot snap, and at the start of each turn you draw two cards instead of the usual card.
You can play High Voltage mode as many times as you like. Unlike the similar limited event, Deadpool's Dinner, this mode does not require tickets or currency to start the race. Plus, you have nothing to lose if you fail, making it a risk-free, high-reward experience.

in Marvel SnapIn High Voltage mode, the Arc Reactor replaces the Snap button. Its role is to randomly distribute two to five energy points between players at the start of each round. The important thing is that reactor energy points stack even after you use them all.
For example, if you start the first round with three energy and spend all of it, the next turn you will have at least five energy points, up to eight. Reactor gives you two to five extra points and accumulates energy from the previous round.
The best decks and cards for high voltage mode
Currently, standard Zoo and Hella decks perform well in high voltage mode. However, you can also choose a hulking deck consisting of Blob, Alioth, Skaar, and Baron Zemo, which is currently the best setup.
Due to the fast-paced, RNG-based nature of High Voltage mode, there are so many strategies for building a deck that it's hard to single out just one or two as the best for the event.
Based on current stats, the following cards have dominated High Voltage so far, allowing you to build powerful decks around them:
- Hulking: It is a great mode to use RNG.
- stain: A powerhouse that exploits the cards in your deck.
- Super scroll: A tech card with high potential for growth, as it is doing a popular archetype in the high voltage META.
- Alioth: A disruptive tech card that nullifies opponents' final turn strategies.
- Ebony Maw: Perfect for mastering one of the three tracks in the very first round.
- live court: It is necessary for power distribution in long decks instead of wide ones.
- Fig: The best joker or surprise drop for this mode.
- Odin: A reliable buffalo option.
- Infinaut: A good win bet for the third round, although you should skip the second round.
- Taskmaster: Another great option for power distribution like The Living Tribunal.
- saltiness: A stable buff option for long strategies.
- black panther: Ideal for building strength.
- Arnim Zola: A good power distributor, especially when paired with Black Panther.
Cards that are prohibited in high voltage
High Voltage's fast and short gameplay can lead to potential abuse. To prevent unfair advantages and game-breaking combos, Second Dinner has banned three cards in mode: Galactus, Magik, and Black Widow.
- Galactus: Can allow players to skip the first two rounds and then win by dropping him in one of the weaker spots.
- Magic: Extends gameplay, which contrasts with the mode's focus on quick matches.
- black widow: Has the potential to disrupt the game by filling the opponent's hand with Widow's Bites.
How to unlock Agony with Volt
You need 11000V to unlock Agony for free. Each time you win the high voltage race, you only gain 20 volts, which is minimal compared to the total required. A more effective way to unlock this card is to complete the daily event missions every eight hours, which can generate up to 2475V per day. These missions refresh every eight hours, allowing for a total of six objectives per day.
By maxing out your daily mission score, you can unlock Agony in six days, provided you start grinding at the start of the event.
If you can't wait for the eight-hour daily resets, you can use Gold to refill your daily missions.
