particle for direct object pokemon Major leaks in the series have produced almost endless information from past and future game development, detailing unreleased Pokemon, future versions, prototypes, and bios of deleted characters. All deleted Pokemon were revealed via Game Freak's Teraleak
In addition to the leak of new and prototype Pokemon, a large number of scrapped Pokemon have also been discovered. These unused Pokemon were collected by u/vagrantwade on the r/PokeLeaks Beta Leaks megathread. In this post, you can find the Gen 3 Prototypes spreadsheet document (originally compiled by The Cutting Room Floor), which shows all the missing Pokemon discovered. Most fall into two general categories: orange (those likely destroyed before February 2002) and pink (those likely destroyed after March 2002). The exact dates are very vague, so these metrics should not be taken as gospel.

Orange is certainly the biggest batch of unreleased Pokemon revealed in this info. Many of these creatures have names that haven't undergone the changes that most Pokémon receive, especially since each rarely deviates from its original Japanese name. An example of this in these revelations is the Pokemon Wailmer, shown here, which was once named “Hueroku”.
As with other Pokemon leaks, the little details are just as easily leaked as the big ones. Many of the Pokémon listed include developer notes, many of which are evidence as to why these Pokémon ended up being left behind. The bug-like Bii that has apparently been replaced by Wingull has an “I'm changing colors” note – matching the switch to Wingull, another flying Pokemon but with a different color scheme. Some Pokemon, like Sudwoodo and Cromilo, were too similar to other Pokemon, while others received more lukewarm comments like “I like the idea, but…” Rikugin.
Monorabi, a Pokemon that would appear if Eevee were a Fire-type, received one of the fewest criticisms, a simple note that said it “looks deformed.” Just like the other orange-class Pokémon, all of which were removed before February 2002, Monorabi has very little detail in its bio – while some of the pink-class Pokémon have little backstories.

Warabitto, the starter pokemon removed
Starter Pokemon are among the most iconic of their respective generations, but some lag behind. An example shown in this document is the Pokemon Warabitto, a rabbit-like creature wearing armor that was once supposed to be the first Gen 3.
Based on the concept art that originally depicted Warabitto, fans have been able to deduce that the rabbit was once supposed to be the water initiate. This meant that Warabitto was replaced by the popular Pokemon Mudkip, though many fans didn't seem to mind Warabitto coming back and the blue rabbit quickly getting its share of fanart.
Pink Pokemon
- Tuta
- Mackey
- Bisquial
- Konbok
- Kumari
- Who are we?
- Mesmi
- Shakukaku
- furapoto
- automatic
- Pouron
- Evolotto
- first
- Archaeon
- Yooo
The pink-crowned creatures outshone other Pokemon in the leak, but it's unlikely they'll ever see the light of day. However, the fact that these Pokemon are slightly more common than the Pokemon in Orange means that they have more stories to their names. For example, Archaeon has a number of “inaccurate” notes about its features, namely that “its scales are winged” and “its appearance hasn't changed since the dinosaurs.” In fact, other notes in its spreadsheet section call it a “living fossil,” with feathery scales strong enough to cut through iron.
Uulon is another Pokemon that has a lot of information, with several descriptions of its nomadic nature. Puruun is similar, with lots of details about diet and love of flying. Evolotto is an odd case in this case, as a lot of the lore surrounding this canceled Pokemon has to do with its ability to transform into any Pokemon – a feature almost identical to Ditto's original abilities. However, the “unconfirmed” part of it suggests that it evolves through “transformation” into different “different” Pokemon, which further confuses the true nature of the concept.
However, as with other Pokemon leaks, some of the Pokemon removed in the pink category have drawn criticism. Some of these are, again, very Pokemon-like criticisms, such as Otuma's note “I want it to look less like Polyog”. Even funnier is Kodomon, which is tagged with the note “Looks like Dragon Quest”, which could refer to its smiling face and big eyes, which actually resemble the famous Dragon Quest slimes.
