The news about the Ryzen 9000X3D processors comes just a few weeks after AMD launched the Ryzen 9000 series. Although the launch of the Ryzen 9000 processors was delayed due to typographical errors discovered in production, this did not prevent AMD from releasing its Zen 5 generation processors before Intel's Arrow Lake processors. With clock speeds of up to 5.7GHz and compatibility with 600 and 800 series motherboards from partners like ASUS and MSI, AMD's Ryzen 9000 series looks set to continue the company's upward trend in the processor market. With the release of Ryzen 9000X3D processors, AMD is looking to increase its market share.

After weeks of rumors surrounding AMD's processor launch window, the company has confirmed that the speculation was correct. In a short video posted on its social media channels, AMD announced that the Ryzen 9000X3D processors will be available on Thursday, November 7th. However, no information was given at the time about pricing, or how many Ryzen 9000X3D processors will be part of the lineup. As with its predecessors, the Ryzen 9000X3D will use AMD's patented 3D V-Cache technology to increase the L3 cache memory in each processor and improve gaming performance in various titles. However, this comes at the cost of lower base clock speeds compared to base Ryzen 9000 processors such as the Ryzen 7 9700X, as well as the inability to overclock them.
When will AMD Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs be available?
Coinciding with the launch of the upcoming Ryzen 9000X3D processors, AMD has discounted some of its current Ryzen 9000 series processors in response to Intel's Arrow Lake launch. These discounts range from $30 to $50, and the Ryzen 5 9600X is $249 on Amazon after the price cut. By comparison, the Intel Core Ultra 5 245KF comes in at $294, making the Ryzen 5 9600X $45 cheaper on average.
Between the launch of the Ryzen 9000X3D processors and its continued work on technologies like FSR4, AMD looks to improve its playing field in 2024 and 2025. It remains to be seen how the Ryzen 9000X3D lineup will compare to its peers.
