Mystical Heirloom

Found Behind an Ice Wall in The Lake of Nine, Midgard, With the Draupnir Spear

god of war ragnarok mystical heirloom

  • Awakens slumbering bosses.
  • Cooldown: 16 seconds
  • Upgrades: cannot be upgraded.

The Mystical Heirloom serves no purpose in combat and is used mainly to find secret bosses within the Nine Realms. If players have ever seen a statue of a troll or a dragon, they can actually be awakened by using the Mystical Heirloom next to it. There are four total bosses found with the Mystical Heirloom:

  • Dragon Beach, East of the Bay of Bounty, Svartalfheim
  • Noatun’s Garden, Vanaheim
  • The Forbidden Sands, Alfheim
  • The Derelict Outpost, Midgard

Once all four of these minibosses have been found and defeated, the Mystical Heirloom is useless.

13

Hilt of Hrotti

Reward For Defeating the Second Oath Guard Miniboss in The Plains, Vanaheim

hilt of hrotti

  • Applies a mark to nearby enemies. Attacking a marked enemy reduces Runic Cooldowns of the equipped weapon. Killing a marked enemy grants a Blessing of Runic.
  • Cooldown: 142 seconds
  • Upgrades: increases the duration of the mark.

Level

Kratos XP Required

Level 2

3,000 XP

Level 3

5,500 XP

The Runic potential of certain weapons can be useful, but it’s also not entirely necessary to get the most out of the best weapons, so the Hilt of Hrotti is best reserved for those who have a reliance on specific builds and weapon choices, so this is a relic that can be ignored for most players.

12

Hilt of Ridill

Crafted After Defeating Olaf Nautson in Animal Instincts

hilt of ridill

  • Unleash a wave of Shock to electrify enemies.
  • Cooldown: 142 seconds
  • Upgrades: increases the area of effect.

Level

Kratos XP Required

Level 2

3,000 XP

Level 3

5,500 XP

There are far superior relics out there, but the Hilt of Ridill isn’t too bad for those nearing the start of their adventure. It’s great for sending enemies back and stunning them thanks to the Shock damage dealt within the vicinity of activation thanks to its wave damage that electrocutes enemies, keeping them staggered for a moment of respite.

11

Hilt of Dainsleif

Crafted After Defeating Ormstunga in Alberich Hollow

hilt of dainsleif

  • Slam the ground to create an explosion of Seior Poison, leaving behind a hazard.
  • Cooldown: 180 seconds
  • Upgrades: increases the amount of hazards.

Level

Kratos XP Required

Level 2

3,000 XP

Level 3

5,500 XP

Poison can be a pretty good status effect against the hordes of the Nine Realms, but it’s not something best used for the endgame. With the Hilt of Dainsleif, players can create an explosion that leaves behind poison, but the slow damage from the poison is best left away for another more impacting relic.

10

Hilt of Tyrfing

Crafted After Defeating Blatonn in The Abandoned Village, Vanaheim

hilt of tyrfing

  • Charge the sword to sacrifice Health and deal damage based on the amount of Health lost.
  • Cooldown: 59 seconds
  • Upgrades: reduce this ability’s cooldown

Level

Kratos XP Required

Level 2

2,500 XP

Level 3

4,000 XP

The Hilt of Tyrfing is a high-risk but high-reward relic that will see players take away their own health in order to deal more damage. It’s hard to get the health back, but it’s a great idea for players who really want to capitalize on more damage against tough foes by showing off how good they are at parries, evades, and dodges to avoid losing more health.

9

Glaive of Dodher

Reward For Defeating Fiske in The Reckoning

glaive of dodher

  • Throw 3 Bifrost chakrams that swerve into enemies.
  • Cooldown: 108 seconds
  • Upgrades: increases the number of chakrams thrown.

Level

Kratos XP Required

Level 2

2,500 XP

Level 3

4,000 XP

Throwing out Bifrost chakrams that can track enemies like missiles and cause a burst of damage is always a good thing, especially when it shoots out fast enough to aid Kratos’s attacks. Combining fast and heavy damage with Bifrost potential is a great idea for aggressive playstyles.

8

Motsognir’s Call

Found in the Aesir Prison Wreckage, Niflheim, Post-Story

motsognir's call

  • Create a shockwave that deals high Stun to surrounding enemies.
  • Cooldown: 158 seconds
  • Upgrades: increase the strength of this effect.

Level

Kratos XP Required

Level 2

3,000 XP

Level 3

5,500 XP

If enemies are overwhelming Kratos, then unleashing Motsognir’s Call to create a shockwave that will stagger those enemies away and even deal high amounts of Stun to them is a great idea. The only downside to this relic is the fact that it’s found after the main story has been completed, so with a few endgame bits left, there isn’t much to do.

7

Hilt of Forsbrandr

Find All 48 Odin’s Ravens and Defeat The Raven Keeper in Niflheim

hilt of forsbrandr

  • Push enemies back with force and grant an aura of protection.

Level

Kratos XP Required

Level 2

4,000 XP

Level 3

7,500 XP

Fighting the Raven Keeper is no easy task, but the reward is definitely worth it, as players will have a defensive relic that can help them avoid certain death by pushing enemies back and receiving an aura of protection which will see temporary invulnerability. It might be brief, but it can be just what Kratos needs to revitalize and be ready for the fight.

Level

Kratos XP Required

Level 3

4,000 XP

This relic is best used when Kratos is running a tad dry on Spartan Rage and needs some to boost his damage output or his health. On top of providing a quick burst of Rage, it will also provide Stun to nearby enemies, allowing Kratos to put more pressure on them with his fists to unleash deadly finishers.

5

Hilt of Angrvadall

Crafted After Defeating Gravel Belly in The Desert Door

hilt of angrvadall

  • Slash forward three waves of light that deal drastically increased damage.
  • Cooldown: 142 seconds
  • Upgrades: reduce this ability’s cooldown.

Level

Kratos XP Required

Level 2

2,500 XP

Level 3

4,000 XP

With the Hilt of Angrvadall in Kratos’s command, the Ghost of Sparta will unleash three powerful waves of light, each dealing more damage than the last to a devastating effect. It might not be the most damaging relic out there, but it will definitely get the job done, and stagger anyone that it hits.

4

hilt of skofnung

  • The sword unleashes its power from the souls within…

Level

Kratos XP Required

Level 2

4,000 XP

7,000 XP

The Hilt of Skofnung requires players to defeat all 12 Berserkers, which isn’t going to be an easy challenge. To those who have conquered these Berserkers, they can find great power in the broken hilt of King Hrolf, as it unleashes a barrage of swords that can repeatedly stagger and juggle enemies until they are killed.

Talisman of Meign

The Talisma of Meign is a decent enough relic for those who want to deal more damage with their melee weapons. More damage is never an issue, and it can provide players with the powerful aggression that they need to take out some of the toughest foes.

The Huldra Project #9 is hilarious, as it sees Kratos make further use of Mimir’s head for not just his jokes and his wisdom, but for the powerful Bifrost blast that bursts from his eyes and mouth to melt through Kratos’s enemies. Mimir screams in unpleasant sensation as Kratos uses his friend as a weapon that can stagger and melt enemy health bars with ease.

1

Hilt of Hofud

Reward For Defeating Heimdall in Creatures of Prophecy

hilt of hofud

  • Distort space and time by creating a Realm Shift.
  • Cooldown: 234 seconds
  • Upgrades: increases the duration of this effect.

Level

Kratos XP Required

Level 2

4,000 XP

Level 3

7,500 XP

The Hilt of Hofud is incredible for its potential, as it is used to create a Realm Shift, which slows time. Slowing time means that enemies barely have time to hit, and Kratos can use his normal speed to attack enemies with ferocity. The Hilt of Hofud is an excuse to devastate the arena, using time to Kratos’s advantage.
